President Commercial
Afsal oversees all commercial activity for Linfox Australia and New Zealand with a focus on driving continuous improvement, digitisation and operational improvements across the business.
Afsal has more than 30 years’ experience in commercial and finance roles across a wide range of industry sectors. Prior to Linfox, he held several senior Commercial and Finance roles at Ernst & Young, Coca Cola, Hays Logistics and RR Donnelley.
Afsal joined Linfox in 2007 and played a key role in supporting the growth of the Resources and Industrial business unit. In 2014 he progressed to the role of Group Manager and subsequently to the role of General Manager Commercial and Finance – with the Intermodal business unit. In 2022, Afsal was appointed to the role Executive General Manager – Finance and Commercial, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and progressed to President Commercial reporting to the Chief Executive Officer in 2023.
Afsal is a fellow member of CPA Australia, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He also holds a MBA in Finance from the University of Leicester (UK) and a MBA in Global Supply Chain from the University of Tennessee (USA).
