Linfox’s Government and Defence business unit have exemption orders under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 in place in several jurisdictions (under equivalent legislation) and have previously had exemption orders granted in Victoria in 2015 and 2020. It is now time to seek a further order in Victoria.
In September 2025, Linfox applied to VCAT for an exemption from certain provisions of the above legislation.
Under these provisions, Linfox is seeking an exemption from employing non-Australian citizens to meet our contractual obligations with the Commonwealth of Australia, particularly with the services we provide to the Australian Defence Force and the necessary restrictions in place regarding those who have access to Defence materials as part of providing those services.
The Senior Member has issued orders requiring Linfox to communicate this notice on its website.
