Maria Doan announced 2017 Linfox Graduate of the Year

Maria Doan has been announced Linfox’s 2017 Graduate of the Year.

The award was presented by Linfox Executive Chairman Peter Fox, and Chief Operating Officer Mark Mazurek at the annual Graduate and Cadet Conference Dinner on Tuesday 5 September.

The 24-month Linfox Graduate Program enables students to build a career in logistics. The development program involves a comprehensive induction, and six-month rotations at various Linfox sites across Australia and New Zealand.

Graduates gain hands-on experience in transport, warehousing and distribution through exposure to a wide range of business areas including commercial, continuous improvement, project management, fleet and safety.

The annual award recognises a person who has displayed exceptional character, strong teamwork, performance and growth throughout the program.

“Maria excelled during her rotations by using her initiative and problem-solving skills,” said Mark.

“She designed and implemented new technical solutions where she saw opportunities. Most notably she created a tool to monitor and track non-driving hours, which led to increased productivity, reduced cost and increased service to the customer.”

Maria also designed a KPI dashboard to display safety targets versus actual performance of the business unit.

Maria has accepted a fulltime position in the commercial team of the Linfox Retail business unit.

“Please join me in congratulating Maria on her well-deserved award,” said Mark, “and all the Graduates for successfully completing the graduate program.”
