Linfox’s partnership with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds is enhancing the mental health and wellbeing of workers across the transport, warehousing and logistics sector.
Healthy Heads was established in response to findings that the unique challenges of people working in our industries – such as long hours, isolation, and high- pressure – can adversely impact mental health.
Research also shows that people working in male-dominated industries are less likely to utilise existing mental health and wellbeing services and resources.
The latest Ten to Men: the Australian Longitudinal Study of Male Health report by the Australian Institute of Family Studies found mental ill-health remains high among Australian men.
Up to 25 per cent experienced a diagnosed mental health disorder in their lifetime, and 15 per cent experienced a disorder in any 12-month period. However, only a quarter of men said they would seek help from a mental health professional if they were experiencing personal or emotional problems.
The Healthy Heads Road Show is a face-to-face initiative that tours Australia to deliver resources, education, and support directly to people in their workplaces.
“The Road Show is a practical way to encourage team members to connect and learn about improving their mental health and wellbeing,” said Linfox National Health and Wellbeing Manager, Lisa Manning.
“By having regular conversations about mental health, encouraging peer support, and providing opportunities to seek help, we aim to improve mental health literacy and significantly reduce the stigma surrounding mental health,” she said.
“As founding members, Linfox continues to support the Healthy Heads Road Show by driving the truck to required locations, hosting onsite events and attending events,” said Healthy Heads CEO, Naomi Frauenfelder.
“The commitment from Linfox is a true reflection of the business’ values and care for everyone in the transport and logistics industry,” she said.
Healthy Heads also offers tailored information, training, tools and resources, including the Healthy Heads App, to support people in the industry.
Linfox Founder Lindsay Fox AC is the founding Patron of the Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds Foundation and CEO Linfox Australia and New Zealand, Mark Mazurek is a founding board member.
