Transforming warehouse safety with autonomous mobile robots

At Linfox, we continuously seek innovative solutions to improve safety and efficiency.

With this in mind, Linfox Vietnam is piloting Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) in warehouse operations at Hanoi DC, Vietnam.

The large DC spans 41,000 square metres and stores and distributes grocery and consumer goods for Linfox customers. It has the capacity to move 300 pallets each day.

Autonomous Mobile Robots operate autonomously, leading to significant improvements in safety and operational efficiency.

Developed by Next Robotics, AMRs have replaced traditional pallet movers and manual handling in key stages of the inbound put-away process.

Equipped with advanced sensors and managed by an intelligent Fleet Management System, the AMRs can navigate obstacles and recharge autonomously. With a maximum load capacity of 1,200 kg, they can operate continuously.

Initial results from the pilot are promising: the technology reduces the risks associated with manual labour, improving both safety and operational efficiency.

“We are dedicated to leveraging the latest technologies to drive continuous improvement. The success of the AMR pilot project represents a significant milestone in our journey toward warehouse automation, ensuring our customers and partners benefit from safer, more efficient and future-ready operations,” Linfox Vietnam Country Manager, Filip Jankovic
