Linfox opens COVID-19 vaccination hub for Victorian team members
Linfox has set up a dedicated COVID-19 vaccination hub in Melbourne as it continues to protect frontline logistics team members.
Using an allocation of COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines from Federal and State Governments to prioritise essential workers, the pop-up vaccination hub is open to Linfox and BevChain team members and subcontractor partner drivers.
“This dedicated vaccination hub is yet another way to support our frontline team members to get vaccinated, helping to protect them, their families and our wider communities,” said CEO Linfox Logistics Australia and New Zealand, Mark Mazurek.
“Together with our customers, we supply essential goods that keep our economy moving and put food on the table in millions of households.
“Our nations rely on this important work and it’s vital we keep the sector moving, safely and efficiently,” he said.
Run by independent medical provider Company Medical Services, the vaccination hub will operate for one week, then reopen in three weeks so team members can receive their second dose.
“We would like to thank the Federal and Victorian Governments for allocating these Pfizer vaccines to Linfox.
“This is another step in the important task of vaccinating supply chain workers, many of whom are navigating changing lockdown restrictions and border crossing directions. It will also take some pressure off public vaccination centres.
“Linfox and BevChain team members have also embraced the opportunity to get vaccinated where possible at customer sites, and we thank our valued customers for making this available.”
Linfox continues to support Australia’s COVID-19 response through the ongoing operation of major retail distribution centres and supply chains, PPE storage management, fuel deliveries and critical pharmaceutical supplies management.
This includes the distribution of two of the COVID-19 vaccines in NSW, Queensland and the ACT. Linfox has worked tirelessly to distribute these important shipments, travelling more than 22 million kilometres to deliver over some 10.4 million doses to healthcare providers so far.
“In line with our commitment to be safer and support health and wellbeing through Linfox’s own Healthy Fox program, we continue to encourage Linfox and BevChain team members and subcontractor partners to get vaccinated, regardless of their location,” said Mark.
“Vaccinations are vital to pave the way out of the pandemic and reinvigorate our economy.”
