Avalon is more than just an airport - it’s a place to do business.
It was all paws on deck as Avalon welcomed media to turn the first sod of the new Petspiration facility.
The Avalon Industrial Precinct is close to the M1 next to Australia’s fastest growing population centres, with the potential and ability to grow into Geelong’s largest industrial district. The excellent proximity to sea, road, and aviation, with plans to introduce rail infrastructure in the coming years, means freight operations can be more easily accommodated for, with a dedicated freight ground handling team and flight operations crew working twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Avalon’s central services hub has been positioned with growth in mind to ensure a more cost-effective supply of services to new tenancies, including trades and maintenance, and Avalon is proud of its ability to offer various allotments with the flexibility to adjust them to meet customer specifications.
The Petspiration Group agreement is one such example, with plans to build a new 32,000 square-metre Petspiration Group regional office and training hub, distribution centre and on-site dog daycare, set to open in 2024.

The $43.5 million dollar facility will create up to 190 new jobs, and support regional business growth, effectively increasing the warehouse footprint from 12,000 to 32,000 square metres. This development joins other recent tenants of the Avalon Airport Industrial Precinct, following in the steps of Cotton On and Hanwha Defense Australia.
Each ‘shovel ready’ parcel is serviced with electricity, water, communications, and waste treatment, accessible via a private road with the high level of security afforded to the airport environment.
Additionally, tenants can secure long-term tenure without the fear of land encroachment or incompatible developments, with scope for further development and expansion available without the need to commit to upfront investment.
Executive Chairman of Avalon Airport, David Fox said, “Avalon Airport’s ability to host further industrial development will unleash dynamic and competitive economic outcomes, strengthening the airport’s role as a major driver of economic activity in Geelong, Melbourne and regional Victoria. The opportunities are limitless.”
