Smart technology transforms Asian operations

Work Smarter

Linfox International Group (LIG) is using the latest technology to streamline supply chains now and for the future, as strives to lead in technology-enabled logistics.

As expectations grow for logistics solutions to be more customer-centric, faster, safer and sustainable, LIG is capitalising on the pace of technology – early.

“The good news is new logistics technology is transforming supply chains as it evolves,” said LIG Chief Information Officer and Supply Chain and Marketing Director, Tony Pendleton.

“Automation and robotics are improving efficiency, shaping flexible operations that are increasingly transparent and traceable, and we are leveraging that.”

Digitalisation and mobile applications

Linfox FoxTrax digitises all aspects of vehicle and driver management through its mobile app.

The system manages safety and compliance, real time track and trace, backhaul and returns, fuel bursar control, finance reporting and data analytics, all helping to transform day-to-day operations.

Robotic process automation

Linfox Indonesia and Thailand are using robotic process automation (RPA) robots to manage data activities in their largest Southeast Asian customer DCs.

RPA robots seamlessly integrate customer data from SAP into Linfox’s Power BI system.

This technology helps improve efficiency, minimise errors and eliminate waste on routine and often repetitive tasks. This successful initiative opens the door to future automation projects for Linfox customers.

Warehouse automation

Linfox Indonesia deployed drone technology to assist with stocktaking at its largest DC, housing 147,000 pallets. Inventory management in large warehouses is often time and resource-intensive.

The drones relieved this by accurately counting 10,500 locations in 24 hours, achieving a successful stocktake for a long-term Linfox FMCG partner.

Linfox is working with partners on future autonomous drone solutions to build on this success.

Real-time visibility

Designed with safety and compliance in mind, Linfox’s state-of-the-art security app is helping transform its broader security function.

The real-time digital tool gives visibility to Linfox security teams that managing valuable customer assets.

The proprietary app digitises ‘gate-in’ and ‘gate-out’ data for visitors and fleet, safety, induction and trip inspection compliance, COVID-19 temperature testing records, and site drug and alcohol test results.

The app also supports vehicle roadworthiness governance, including information to help manage safe loading so Linfox teams meet compliance commitments.
