New investment for beverage growth

Grow Stronger

BevChain is forging ahead with new partnerships and investments to help its customers service a growing beverage market.

New future-ready sites
Along with record investments in new systems, technology and modern fleet, the leading beverage specialist is extending its property footprint with two new logistics facilities in Western Australia and Victoria.

Construction of a new 35,000 square-metre Perth facility will create additional capacity to serve increasing demand in Western Australia.

The state-of-the-art warehouse design will see BevChain consolidate its current Canning Vale and Kewdale operations into one site, with the addition of important temperature-controlled storage.

The new warehouse is set to be fully operational by April 2023.

In addition, an impressive new 70,000 square-metre BevChain facility in Laverton, Victoria will replace the existing Somerton site. Significantly larger than existing operations, it will sustainably service a growing market.

“Strategically positioned in the industrial hub of Melbourne’s west, the large site will service major customers with modern warehouse technology, temperature-controlled storage and ample space for new and exciting brands and products,” said Linfox President BevChain, Misha Shliapnikoff.

Both sites are seeking a 5 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, in accordance with Linfox’s commitment to act sustainably.

Environmental credentials include solar generation and electric vehicle charging.

“In line with Linfox’s Leading the Way 2025 business strategy, this considerable investment supports Linfox’s exciting growth plans and its commitment to the BevChain business,” said Misha.

BevChain’s beverage expertise, scale and agility helps position our customers for future growth while remaining flexible enough to respond to shifts in demand," said Linfox President BevChain, Misha Shliapnikoff.
Linfox BevChain and Swisslog team members celebrate their award-winning warehouse automation at the Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards.

BevChain warehouse automation wins at ASCLA

Together with automation partner Swisslog, BevChain won the 60th anniversary Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Award (ASCLA) in the Supply Chain Management category for a major automated warehouse solution. This award category recognises an organisation that has demonstrated significant achievement or improvement within a section or across its entire supply chain.

The prestigious accolade was awarded to BevChain and its automation partner Swisslog for a smart PowerStore warehouse, designed and implemented by experts from both organisations.

“Particularly suited to industries seeking high throughput and space optimisation, the automated facility boosts storage capacity by around 60 per cent in the same building footprint, improves safety, picking accuracy and customer service performance.” explained Misha.

“The customisable PowerStore is a win for BevChain and our brewing customer, conveniently located next to the adjacent inner-western Sydney site.

“With record numbers of people working for us, it also opens exciting opportunities for them to extend their skills and experience in the new world of logistics.”

Converted from a manual operation, the automated BevChain facility includes over 30,000 pallet locations, with 20 satellite AisleCarriers and RowCarriers, transferring pallets to and from their location.
