Our history has shown we cannot afford to wait. We must pave our own way.

Linfox is a proud Australian organisation that has worked tirelessly from humble beginnings of one man and a truck to become the largest privately owned logistics company in Australia and New Zealand.

We now have over 8,500 employees with more than 2,000 heavy vehicles across 1.5 million sq meters of warehouse space that generates almost 4MWH of our own energy, as well as being the largest containerised rail freight provider in Australia.

Our service delivery standards continue to be exceptionally high. We’re also proud of our incredibly strong operational performance.

As we strive to create a safe, secure, efficient and sustainable future, we will continue to draw on the pioneering spirit of our heritage.

The legacy of our founder Lindsay Fox AC was recognised this year with the prestigious Personality of the Year award at the Australian Freight Industry Awards, a well-deserved accolade for Lindsay.

There is richness in the story not just of our inception, but also in our evolution.

Leading in sustainability

The essence and foundation of our success has been our willingness to quietly lead in challenging spaces, such as sustainability.

We have been trialling electric vehicles for three years, gathering data and understanding how we can scale up and electrify our fleet.

Our first two electric prime movers took to the road recently, delivering groceries and goods for Australia’s two major supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths,

Through a partnership with the Federal Government, we will now have 26 electric prime movers in our fleet over the next three years.

Electrifying fleet is not a journey we can tread alone. It can only be achieved collectively with government agencies and industry to support the infrastructure and regulations needed.

But we have not waited for change. We have quietly led the change.

Our trusted partnerships with our fleet manufacturers both locally and internationally mean we can deliver superior vehicles with cutting edge technology sooner, so we can best serve our customers.

Built with the environment in mind, our new warehouses are designed and built to achieve 5 Star Green Star certification from the Green Building Council of Australia. Regency Park, South Australia and Willawong, Queensland have received this certification.

These strategic shifts help us to continually maintain our leadership in a competitive market.

We are a proud, sophisticated and trusted supply chain logistics partner, and our success in the industry has very much been founded in the values we hold and our strong customer and manufacturer relationships.

The span of skills and opportunities to continue to meet demand and needs of the future are broad and many still remain untapped.

The increasing importance of technology means we require more technical and analytical skills. The rapid pace of innovation within warehouse logistics is evolving rapidly. We can now set up a warehouse management system in a few weeks and we continually seek to drive improvements across our operations with more advanced digital solutions.

These are both challenging and exciting times.

Building our capabilities

We are experiencing strong growth, providing job security for our people and have improved our already strong safety record.

Our people are the foundation of our success and how we attract, retain and build the capability of our workforce has never been more important. We want to continue to grow diversity and inclusion in our teams and provide more career pathways and entry points for women and young people.

In the last year, we have introduced game changing initiatives, such as our Driver Academy and Warehouse Academy. These initiatives alongside our leadership and graduate programs, including a new specifically designed IT graduate program, are all critical to securing a diverse and skilled talent pipeline.

There is no doubt that even in these early foundational phases this approach is making a difference in the skill and capability across our team and leaders.

Our people are being recognised for their expertise and leadership in the industry.

I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge Namrita Anchan, Linfox Test Manager Project Services, who received the 2024 Australian Freight Industry Women’s Leadership Award recognising her contribution and leadership in encouraging women’s participation within the transport, freight and logistics industry.

Noah Heldt, Linfox Operations Manager Consumer and Healthcare Group, won the Frank Vale Award which recognises talented young people in the industry with the potential to become future leaders at the 2024 Refrigerated Warehouse and Transport Conference.

It is also great to be recognised by our customers. BevChain received the Logistics Provider of the Year Award at the Lion Supplier Recognition Awards.

The concept of achieving together is part of our DNA, but we must continue to strategically reflect on the foundations of our past, as we build a stronger tomorrow.
