Linfox continues to lead the industry in sustainable practices, as we focus on reducing our carbon footprint and creating energy efficient logistics facilities. We now use 50% of the grid energy, compared to 2018 and constantly seek ways to further reduce grid usage.
With this in mind, the new Pramac integrated energy storage system was the perfect solution to maximise investment in Green Energy at the Linfox BevChain site in Laverton.
The Pramac 450kW/940kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), paired with the advanced Smart Energy Controller & Management Platform (PSEC/EMP) allows Linfox to maximise solar self-consumption, turning surplus energy into an asset. Rather than curtailing generation, excess solar is stored in the BESS and discharged later—offsetting grid energy during early mornings, late afternoons or cloudy periods.
The system provides intelligent “self-consumption optimisation” mode actively maintains the site’s grid metre near zero, ensuring that every possible kilowatt generated onsite is used onsite.

The PSEC enables real-time energy flow monitoring, seamless PV inverter integration and precise scheduling of operation modes. It dynamically switches between self-consumption and peak shaving, ensuring not only maximum renewable utilisation but also reduced demand charges during peak grid pricing periods.
With the Pramac BESS, Linfox can cover several hours of operation using stored green energy and improve energy independence. All of this can be achieved in a compact, modular system that can grow as site load increases.
The system’s fast installation, third-party compatibility and secure remote access make it a low-risk, high-return upgrade for energy-intensive operators. It’s not just a storage unit; it’s a future-proof energy strategy.
