Resilient supply chains

As COVID-19 presents ongoing challenges across Asia, the Linfox International Group (LIG) teams continue their resilient, safety-conscious commitment to keeping our vital supply chains moving.

As COVID-19 presents ongoing challenges across Asia, the Linfox International Group (LIG) teams continue their resilient, safety-conscious commitment to keeping our vital supply chains moving.

Our group has worked tirelessly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect our people and communities. They continue to excel in the face of travel restrictions and the burdens of pandemic management response throughout the region.

I am pleased to report that office-based teams in many LIG countries have safely transitioned back into the workplace, with COVID-safe measures firmly embedded into their daily routine.

Our customer commitment endures, with LIG adding high-level site security to its list of services for Kellogg’s Malaysia. We were recently entrusted to manage security for their entire site, encompassing the outer perimeter, internal warehouses and the manufacturing plant. Our new electronic yard management system ensures we keep accurate records of vehicles and people on site; record incidents and security breaches in real time, conduct immediate security checks and obtain instant KPI insights for review.

This value-added security service builds on our already high-calibre partnership and provides a blueprint for future customer opportunities.

In line with our pledge to build and develop local talent, our first LIG Leadership Development program has commenced. Rolling out with participants from across all LIG countries, the training is in addition to our existing graduate program and detailed supervisor training. The modules focus on leadership practices and use real cases studies and challenges to build sought-after competencies like influencing, critical thinking, collaboration and innovation, to name a few. Read more about this program on page 31.

In other news, our longstanding customer ExxonMobil in Hong Kong has trusted LIG by extending our 20-year strong partnership to 2027. We will continue to provide fuel and LPG deliveries through our specialised service and a team who continue to uphold a strong safety record.

Our Linfox Thailand Unilever Operations team recently renewed the British Retail Consortium accreditation for a second time in a row with an impressive ‘A’ rating. This accreditation allows Linfox to partner with world class customers such as Unilever and consistently ensure that warehouse and distribution services meet the highest quality standards. The team has improved on their yearly results through strong leadership and teamwork.

Preparation for our exciting new Burapha Agro-Forestry contract in Laos continues. Given the harvesting operation requires specialised, high-tech, automated fleet and equipment, crucial simulator training is in progress for our operational staff, with operating procedures, facility and maintenance preparedness underway. This will ensure we hit the ground running for our customer when the contract commences.

In an effort to keep everyone engaged during the challenging COVID-19 lockdown, our team in India organised an online activity for team members and their families – ‘Linfox India Kids Got Talent’. The initiative helped reconnect families, reduce stress levels, motivate kids and revealed some great talent along the way!

The pandemic has forced us to make fundamental changes to our daily lives at work and home. Once again, I commend our teams across LIG for playing their part to ensure a safe workplace and keep critical supplies moving throughout Asia.
