Congratulations to the Linfox India team for receiving the Rolling Trophy (August 2023) in recognition of their best practice safety at the Asian Paints Ltd Mysore plant. Our Thailand Unilever team was also recognised with the Thailand National Safety Award, earning the Gold Certificate from the Ministry of Labour.
Meanwhile, other exciting projects and partnerships are progressing across LIG.
Our cold chain network expertise has secured a new customer partnership with Unilever Ice Cream in Thailand, underpinned by our investment in the latest temperature-controlled fleet. We also welcomed new business with Central Group in Vietnam and Thailand, Thai Food Group and Khmer Cold in Cambodia, and look forward to enhancing their growth.
Hosted by Executive Chairman Linfox Pty Ltd, Peter Fox AM, the official opening of BevChain’s huge new beverage DC in Thailand marked a new era for high performance beverage distribution from a key location, with easy access to regional Thailand and neighbouring countries.
The LIG board and the Fox family are keen to build on and invest in a safe, sustainable network across the region. I look forward to sharing exciting developments across Asia, particularly in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam where new DCs, fleet and resources will support our supply chain leadership.
On the technology front, our LIG-managed Unilever DCs are rolling out dashboards to enable quick operational decisions to support various KPIs including picking, through-put and other performance targets. The dashboards run on live DC screens and show data in real time. They will be introduced to other Unilever customer DCs across Asia, with promising potential across our customer base.
Our collaboration with technology partners is yielding next-generation opportunities with AI-powered safety insights, security surveillance and warehouse processes. This is another way we work smarter to keep people safe and prevent the human and commercial impacts of safety and security breaches.
LIG’s new Leadership Acceleration Program is building our future leaders. Empowering managers with essential skills and knowledge for effective leadership, the program offers a comprehensive, tailored curriculum addressing the unique needs of our Asian business.
Linfox Thailand supported the Australian Chamber of Commerce in their first Young Professionals Networking and Development session. Entitled ‘The Power of Purpose’, it united like-minded young Thai professionals, with more than 115 participants and four guest speakers. Around 20 of the Linfox Thailand country and regional teams’ young managers joined from the operations, finance, safety and solutions teams.
Finally, our friend and colleague Simon Crean sadly passed in June 2023, but he and his legacy are never far from our thoughts. Aptly renamed the Simon Crean Award, our former LIG CEO’s Award was recently presented to Nhi Nguyen Thi My (Lili) – LIG Regional Project Management team member. This award reflects Simon’s extraordinary impact, embeds his memory in our business and inspires our future leaders.
