Former Australian Trade Minister Simon Crean brings great expertise and knowledge to the Linfox International Group Board.
Simon has had a distinguished career in Australian Government since 1990 serving as Deputy Leader of the Australian Labor Party and holding a range of key ministerial portfolios including, appropriately, Minister for Trade, Minister for Employment, Education and Training, Minister for Science and Technology and Minister for Primary Industries and Energy.
Before entering politics Simon had a prominent career in Australia’s union movement and rose to the lead role of President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions in 1985.
Simon was born in Melbourne to a distinguished political family and was educated at Monash University.
He retired from Parliament in 2013
Simon is also currently Co-Chair Cornerstone Group Advisory Board, Chair EABC and Chair AKBC. He is Deputy Chancellor of Monash University and an Associate Professor at Deakin University. He is on the Boards of NRRA, FRRR, GSEM and of Luna Park Melbourne
He was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Deakin University in 2014.
