Social responsibility

At Linfox, we are committed to making a positive difference to the communities in which we live. We work together with our employees, charities and community groups to provide our support wherever we can, helping when disasters strike and participating in projects that enrich our communities.

Linfox has a proud tradition of providing financial and in-kind support to a range of community organisations through the Fox Family Foundation and via our business.

The Fox Family Foundation manages the family’s charitable donations and activities.

The Linfox business also provides responsive support through in-kind logistical services to communities affected by natural disasters, including people impacted by bushfires in Australia, and floods across Australia and Asia.

A selection of the organisations and initiatives we support are listed below:

Female Driver Program

Linfox and our partners at Australia Post, Volvo, Wodonga Tafe and Transport Women Australia have launched an all-women truck driver training program to help shift the gender balance in logistics. The course aims to remove the roadblocks that make it harder for women to enter the heavy vehicle industry.

The Captain’s Ride

Linfox has provided logistics support for the Steve Waugh Foundation’s charity bike ride The Captain’s Ride. The target of the ride is to raise funds for the Steve Waugh Foundation to provide life changing support to children and young adults affected by rare diseases

Eco Drive

Linfox promotes workplace and road safety in the communities where we work through programs like Eco Drive, which teaches safe and environmentally-friendly driving techniques.

The 500-Mile Drive For Red Cross

In partnership with Coles Collect, Linfox has helped donate $1 million of mixed stock to Red Cross.

Linfox transported 283 pallets of clothing from Sydney to the Red Cross Distribution Centre in Sunshine West, Victoria. All pallets were transported free of charge to support Red Cross Retail Warehouse.

Surf Lifesaving

Linfox has sponsored Nippers’ programs at seven Surf Lifesaving Clubs (SLSCs) across Australia, in line with our commitment to safety and youth development. Nippers programs teach children fundamental beach safety and train future lifesavers who play an important role on Australia’s beaches. The sponsorship provides support for Nipper and youth development programs and assists in supplying vital equipment such as boards, rescue boats and shade tents and supports safety awards.

FareShare and OzHarvest

Linfox has sponsored Australia’s leading food rescue organisations, Fare Share and OzHarvest. Together, FareShare and OzHarvest collect enough food from major retailers and food producers to supply more than two million meals to disadvantaged Australians each year. Rescuing food also greatly reduces land fill. Linfox’s sponsorship funds a new vehicle for the FareShare fleet in Melbourne, and in Sydney the support provides many thousands of additional meals.

Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute

Linfox has sponsored the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Sydney to support the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart muscle diseases. The Institute researches diseases including heart development and congenital heart disease, inherited heart diseases and the regulation of heart function in response to stresses such as high blood pressure and aging.

Linfox at Victorian Learn Local Awards

Roughly one quarter of Australia’s 19-year-olds do not complete Year 12, and a similar number of 24-year-olds are not fully engaged in work, training or education.

With the support of Linfox Operational Training instructors, Kensington Neighbourhood House has enabled thirteen men to undertake accredited training. Eight of them successfully obtained their forklift licence with ten of them now in paid employment.

Through the partnership between Linfox and Kensington Neighbourhood House, the Prepare for Work in Warehousing program was established to help the disadvantaged and unemployed, and became a finalist in this year’s Learn Local Awards.

AFS Intercultural Programs

Every year Linfox is proud to award an AFS Scholarship to the child of a Linfox employee to allow them to study overseas for a year. AFS scholarships allow students to experience different cultures, languages and gain new perspectives. Since 1989, Linfox has supported 22 students to study overseas.

Sponsorship in Asia – working with local communities

Linfox works with charities in countries across the Asia Pacific.

INDIA: Linfox has teamed up with Room to Read to supply local schools with fully-equipped libraries.

VIETNAM: The Scholarship Program to Enhance Learning and Literacy (SPELL) supports disadvantaged families by improving education, medical care, clean water and improved sanitation. Linfox is involved in the SPELL program providing children with bicycles to ensure that those living in remote areas can make their way to school.

CHINA: Shanghai’s ‘greenbelt’ movement engages different communities to form tree nurseries and plant seedlings on public land. Linfox’s sponsorship will help plant an area of 3,000 square meters of forest in the Qingpu district in Shanghai.

Helping Hands crossing international waters

A 61-year-old Thai resident Jit was forced to sell pancakes to support her remaining family members after her husband and three children passed away. Thanks to Linfox ambassadors of the Linfox Social Venture Program, residents like Jit and their families will receive a new home next month.

Linfox employees worked with the program in conjunction with the “Hands Across the Water” foundation. With the support of Linfox colleagues and customers they raised over $11,000 to go towards the cause.
