Freight Forwarding

International transport systems

Freight forwarding is the longhaul transport of goods interstate and globally. Linfox Logistics Linehaul Business Unit provides freight forwarding services via road, rail, air and sea. We are Australia’s second largest rail freight forwarder and drive efficiencies in international freight forwarding.

Road

Linfox Logistics’ Linehaul operations manage freight forwarding with an extensive road fleet spread across Australia. In 2007 the fleet travelled more than 290 million kilometres across Australia and New Zealand.

Linfox uses a combination of company fleet, hauliers and subcontractors including specialised prime movers and trailers that cater for a huge variety of unique customer cargoes. Cargoes include more than one million tonnes of wood product, almost half of Australia’s white goods, 250,000 tonnes of copper from the Olympic Dam mine in South Australia and over 14 million pallets of product to Australian retailers.

Rail

Linfox has more than 4,000 specialised rail containers. These vary in design to suit specialised customer needs, such as bulk materials handling, refrigeration and solar powered units.

Linfox’s current Australian national network includes 15 strategically placed rail depots providing convenient rail access in every state and territory in Australia.

Sea

Linfox manages extensive Australian coastal shipping, including Trans Bass services for Tasmania and freight forwarding between Western Australia and the Australian east coast.
