Linfox Logistics’ peer-to-peer buddy driver training system helps make our roads safer as part of our Vision Zero safety strategy.

The buddy system pairs experienced drivers with their colleagues to review their driving techniques, skills and attitude in an in-cab assessment.

Drivers learn from each other’s on-road experience and get practical advice from their peers. Driver buddies assess their peers for a whole range of criteria including attitude, fatigue awareness, gear control, road position, mirror use, efficient driving and safety.

The buddy program ensures that every driver is up-to-date on safe driving behaviours and knows Linfox’s safety requirements.

The program was implemented by Linfox as part of our Vision Zero safety strategy. CEO Michael Byrne said, “At Linfox safety is our number one priority. The driver buddy system is one way to ensure that every Linfox employee is part of a strong workplace safety culture, and to make sure we reduce our risk of accidents as much as possible.”
