Linfox won the 2012 Logistics Leader Award at the Logistics and Materials Handling Magazine’s Mercury Awards in Sydney last year.
The award recognises Linfox’s Sustainability program, in particular our carbon emissions reductions, Eco Drive program and employee engagement activities.
Group Manager Safety and Sustainability, Andrew Niven said the annual award honours outstanding programs which contribute to new models of logistics theory and practice.
“I congratulate all Linfox employees who are working to reduce our carbon emissions through improved business practices and environmentally friendly technologies,” Andrew said.
Linfox was among five finalists nominated for the award.
In 2010 Linfox announced a goal to reduce its rate of greenhouse gas emissions by 50 per cent by 2015 based on 2006-2007 emissions. Linfox has cut its rate of carbon emissions by 40 per cent to date.
