Four new Volvo FH16 700 horsepower trucks will help Linfox service remote and distant resources customers across Western Australia.
The Volvos are amongst the first 700 horsepower trucks in Australia. They will apply their power hauling triple road trains supplying some of Western Australia’s key resources sites.
Linfox supplies major WA mining and gas developments with a massive range of goods and equipment. Locations include the Pilbara, Dampier, Port Hedland and the Kalgoorlie region. The journeys to these sites are over 1,600 kilometres one-way.
The new Volvos are rated for up to 140,000 kilograms and dangerous goods haulage. They feature full airbag suspension, disc brakes and 1,380 litre fuel capacity to provide a range of more than 1,800 kilometres.
The prime movers are fitted with full electronics, emission monitoring diagnostics and Selective Catalytic Reduction to meet stringent Euro 5 emission levels.
Communications are essential and the Volvos are fitted with GPS monitoring devices and satellite and mobile phones.
