Jeff Smith, one of Linfox’s most experienced driver trainers takes great pride in maintaining the high standard that Linfox drivers are known for. He trains drivers in a wide variety of roles.

Jeff explains, “Training drivers in our industrial fleet for instance, needs attention to a number of unique circumstances. Driving and operating dangerous goods, such as fuel tankers, requires a different set of highly specialised skills. Safe tanker operating procedures are vital.”

“Drivers at Linfox are regularly assessed,” said Jeff. “It’s important to keep sharpening your skills.”

Over the last two years, Jeff and all Linfox driver trainers delivered Linfox’s Eco-Drive training. “Eco-Drive skills reduce carbon emissions by focusing on how we rev and idle; it’s something all drivers should be conscious of, for the environment and for their own economy.”
