Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage business relies on Linfox for efficient warehousing and transport across New Zealand’s North and South islands.
The Swiss-based Nestlé has been in New Zealand since 1885. Merv Phipps, Linfox’s NZ Manager FMCG said that Linfox’s modern multiuser DCs in Auckland and Christchurch provide an ideal base for managing stock and distribution to the retail market.
“Nestlé and Purina products account for around a quarter of our DC capacity,” said Merv. “And our fleet provides an efficient distribution system on both islands.”
Linfox’s work includes devanning containers of imported products and transporting stock from Nestlé’s two North Island manufacturing plants.
Geoff Harper, Nestlé’s Manager Supply Chain said, “At Nestlé New Zealand we regard our relationship with Linfox as a partnership. Outstanding service was recently demonstrated by the Linfox team’s rapid response at Christchurch. Despite significant earthquake impacts to our DC on two occasions, operations were back on track after a very short delay.”
