Peter Fox, Linfox’s Executive Chairman was awarded a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia on the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
The announcement noted Peter’s ‘Service to the transport and logistics industry through a range of executive roles, and to the community, particularly to social welfare organisations’.
Peter said, “I’m honoured to receive the award. It reflects Linfox’s leadership in the supply chain industry and the Fox family’s commitment to community support.”
Linfox is vigorously pursuing a sustainability strategy to reduce its rate of carbon emissions by 50 per cent by 2015.
“We decided we wanted to reduce Linfox’s impact on the environment,” Peter said. “We owe it to our children and many other businesses are active in reducing their carbon footprint.”
Peter is also involved with a number of charities. These include being an executive member of the Alfred Hospital Foundation; chairing the 2012 Prime Minister’s Olympic Dinner, Victorian Olympic Council; and fundraising for the Salvation Army’s St Kilda Crisis Accommodation Centre.
“My parents have always encouraged me to put back into the community and I am very proud to do so.”
