Linfox wins SMART Awards
Linfox Logistics won two awards at the SMART Supply Chain Industry Conference last night.
Linfox founder, Lindsay Fox, won the Award for Significant Individual Contribution.
The award recognises Lindsay’s outstanding contribution to the industry, his broader work to improve industry standards and his contributions to the general community over more than 50 years.
Lindsay thanked conference organisers and said, “I am now focused on introducing ‘black box’ technology in trucks across the Asia Pacific region. We’re working with government to introduce this system across the industry as a proven technology that boosts safety and efficiency. The greatest legacy I can leave is a safer supply chain industry.”
Linfox Logistics also won the Award for Excellence in Transport and Logistics. The award recognises the development of the outstanding WebViz system which provides web-based real time data on movements between distribution centres and stores.
Michael Byrne, Linfox’s CEO said, “WebViz significantly boosts the efficiency of our deliveries for customers by improving shipment visibility, alerting stores and distribution centres (DCs) of vehicle movements and allowing immediate incident response and review.”
Michael said that the development of WebViz reflected Linfox’s powerful cooperative problem solving culture.
In addition, Linfox’s fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) Business Unit and Implementations team were finalists in the Award for Excellence in Supply Chain and Distribution Management for their outstanding development of Arnott’s high-tech DC in Brisbane.
